I was tagged by the wonderful Fox from The Patchwork Fox to complete the A-Z challenge. Before I commence, please go and check out their blog – it’s brilliant, full of insightful, thoughtful content and they’re a total sweetheart to boot.
This challenge was actually created by Fox based on a list they found in an old journal listing 26 of their positive traits – you guessed it, one for each letter of the alphabet. This is a great idea, and as usual, someone’s kind tag has pushed me into writing a blog post when I’d been idling on it for a while.
So, without further ado, here I go. Yes, I had to look up half of these words because I was really quite stuck. Most of them probably mean similar things, but it’s nice to give it a try and not just write ‘anxious’, ‘depressed’, or ‘mental’ for once.
Affable
Bounteous
Compassionate
Dependable
Empathetic
Funny
Generous
Hortative
Intuitive
Judicious
Kerchieft (this isn’t accurate, but I really wanted to use it)
Loyal
Magnanimous
Nimble-witted
Open-minded
Perseverant
Quick-sighted
Resilient
Sensitive
Thorough
Uncritical
Veracious
Welcoming
Xenial
Yearlong (it’s true, I am an all-season delight and I definitely didn’t struggle with this one)
Zaftig (this is a great one, look it up)
Honestly, finding positive words was harder than I thought. I could barely think of any on my own, which is disappointing. Nevertheless, I’ve managed it and expanded my vocabulary somewhat in the process. It’s interesting how easy it is to think of negative things, how my brain is just trained that way. If I’d been making a list of negative traits this probably would have taken me five minutes.
I’ll do my tags on Twitter – thanks again, Fox!
Yay, Iβm so glad you did this challenge! And I love all the words you chose! Sending love x
I love your list! There are some new words there that Iβve never heard of before. Xenial? Will have to look that one up!
I had to look most of them up as well π
LOOOOL I was thinking well, damn, hasnβt she got a huge, erm, quaint vocabulary. π
I think I’d struggle to do this, but I love your list! Just looked up zaftig as I’d never heard of it before and I love it π
Honestly I had to look up so many of them, I just couldn’t think of anything nice π
